Structural Biology
ActiveSight's expertise in Structural Biology is an integral part of our Fragment-based Lead Discovery Platform. High throughput X-ray crystallography is utilized to screen fragment libraries, as well as in the iterative Lead Optimization process. Relying on our experience with structure-based drug design projects for more than 35 Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology partners, we know how to quickly and reliably obtain high-quality structural data for a wide variety of human drug targets.
Our capabilities include cloning, expression, and purification using baculovirus and E. coli systems, please see the Facilities page for more information. Our expertise in designing protein constructs that express in high yields, along with our experience in purifying many different enzyme families, is key to our success in producing diffraction-quality crystals. With powerful, automated in-house Rigaku X-ray equipment, along with access to synchrotron radiation, high resolution crystal diffraction data is collected quickly. MiFit+ software, developed by scientists in-house and specifically designed for structural determination of co-crystal structures, is used to determine structures.
